We wish Mr. Wynder well on his newly chosen path. In the absence of Mr. Wynder, the City of Carson may or may not change its position on fighting the judiciary which wisely determined that sex offender ordinances such as the ordinance adopted by that city are preempted by state law. If the City of Carson does not change its position, the pending lawsuit in state court for breach of contract and fraud will be pursued with vigor in order to protect the Constitution and recognize the separation of powers.
I spend a lot of time in Carson. I live a mile away. My nephew lives in Carson. One of my high school friend’s father is a member of the city council. That same friend is a Godparent to my brother’s son (the one who stays in Carson). I hope my friend’s dad isn’t backing the ill conceived ordinance.
The City of Carson should be encouraged to continue their disregard for sound legal counsel. Their Disregard had encouraged this fine attorney to move on. Taking on the California Supreme Court over a registered citizen’s right to live with their family anywhere they choose is not just moronic but will also prove costly.
